- NY Times: Are Book Reviewers Out of Print?

Answer: Yes.

- Jeff Ford talks Nebula snarkism

Admittedly the Nebula throws me a curve ball every year, but the bottom line is that if it puts books otherwise not being circulated in the online chatter box some exposure than it’s accomplishing something. At any rate, any short list that includes Jeffrey Ford or Richard Bowes can’t be any worse than half bad any year period.

- Daniel Abraham unveiled the cover to An Autumn War and it’s bad ass!

This is the sequel (twice removed) to his A Shadow in Summer which I reviewed here.

- Gwyneth Jones says we are the Jetson’s neighbors at the Guardian. Ms. Jones also talks Cyberpunk at the Sunday Morning Herald.

- La Gringa has some cool stuff - must have T-shirt - and a Fantasy Writers Exam.

- Why fanfic makes us stupid at Talking Squid.

- I really dig this DC Comics Podcast: Raging Bullets. A bit fanboyish, but I really like it.

- Death of reading at the Orlando Sentinel.

- Multiple submitters often ask me what I’m looking for with Heliotrope. Language, people, language! Catherynne M. Valente has free fiction up, Palimpsest, at Sense Five Press.

- Paul S. Kemp is offering a chance to win his forthcoming Shadowstorm.

- Salman Rushdie in Arkansas

- China talks children’s lit at the Guardian.

- John C. Wright puts up the first chapter of Titans of Chaos.

- First Chapter of Haruki Murakami’s After Dark.

- Chabon on editing at the Wall Street Journal.
