New FBS Contest, Tournament Continues and Misc.
Posted by jaytomio on March 14, 2007
I have got a lot of contests that will be coming up starting next month (announcing them now would be just a too tad* early) representing a wide range of forthcoming goodies, but in the meantime get something for your damn kids, as Damon has cooked up a contest for children’s writer David Lubar’s Hidden Talents and his latest True Talents. I honestly don’t know nothing about him but you can
check out this recent interview/cast with him at the Dragon Page I stumbled on to. We also have reviews of both books here and here at Fantasybookspot.com by Amber.
The FBS Tournaments continue. People save their ammo in the earlier rounds, but some highlights**:
“Card is in no way comparible to Mieville and Lewis in terms of being as ass - he is on the level of Goodkind and Crichton, far above others in the field.”
“Heroes Die is the kind of book that kicks you in the ass for having read four Jordan tomes. Stover is one of my literary idols. ‘nuff said. “
“Plus she took a baseball bat to the knees of our esteemed soapboxer Jay, and he enjoyed it. Now THAT is a rare talent.”

I just started reading Jay Lake’s Mainspring, but here are what others have read and reviewed this week that I glanced at:
- Damon has reviewed the forthcoming Unclean by Richard Lee Byers. Yes I know what you’re saying - People review Forgotten Realms books? If you send them and somebody is interested - we will.
- Brian reviewed Go to Helena Handbasket by Donna Moore and apparently loved it!
*Tad is one of those nicknames that is just too versatile, with grossly different possible definitions for any Bodhisattva to recommend having.
**Comments do not necessarily represent the opinion of FBS or myself unless you have an issue with any of them.

Wow, I’ve been quoted by the Bodhisattva.
You should have included some of Edelman’s descriptions of The Lies of Locke Lamora.
